My philosophy of design, is summed up in the phrase Universal Design.

On any given day, we as designers are challenged to solve issues.  Some of them are personal to us, and some are needs of others.  Ultimately, the experience we have as humans is interwoven with the things around us, and those things are the result of design activities.

The term Universal Design to me is rooted in the core principles of applying creative, artistic, sensible, and experience-based thinking to the conditions of our lives. 

Universal Design Thinking means combining things like ideation, engineering, consideration for manufacturing, and above all else, the user experience. (Just to name a few).

Throughout my career, I have utilized the foundational aspects of the design principles I learned at Pratt Institute, and arguably those I learned throughout my life before Pratt and every day thereafter.
